Requisition Description
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to own the release and deployment lifecycle for our team. The engineer will be responsible for release-day ceremonies creating releases, generating deployment artifacts, and deploying to the Dev and Staging environments and for producing the versioned artifacts that are promoted to QA and higher environments.The role centers on building reliable, repeatable release and deployment processes, automating them through scripts and CI/CD pipelines, and using Docker and Kubernetes to package and orchestrate applications. The ideal candidate is dependable under release-day pressure, detail-oriented about versioning and artifact integrity, and collaborates closely with development and QA teams to ensure smooth promotions across environments.Skills & QualificationsCore (required): CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions); Docker; Kubernetes; scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python); Git and artifact/version management (e.g., Nexus, Artifactory).
Roles and Responsibilities Release ManagementOwn release-day ceremonies: plan, create, and coordinate releases end to end.Create and manage deployment artifacts (versioned, traceable, and reproducible) for promotion to QA and higher environments.Maintain release notes, versioning, and change tracking for each deployment.Deployment & EnvironmentsDeploy releases to Dev and Staging environments and validate successful deployment.Package and promote build artifacts through QA, pre-production, and production environments.Manage environment configuration and ensure parity across Dev, Staging, QA, and higher environments.Automation & ScriptingWrite and maintain scripts (Shell/Bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.) to automate build, release, and deployment tasks.Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, testing, and deployments.Containerization & OrchestrationBuild and manage Docker images for application packaging.Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes (K8s), including manifests/Helm charts, rollouts, and troubleshooting.Support & CollaborationTroubleshoot deployment and environment issues; support QA and development teams during releases.Monitor deployments, roll back when needed, and report release status to stakeholders.
